Matthews Cotswold Flour gives away 100 bags of flour to get Chippy baking

In support of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, which is taking place on September 28, Matthews Cotswold Flour will be giving away one hundred bags of flour to encourage local people to bake for the event.

Based in Shipton under Wychwood, Matthews has been milling in Oxfordshire for 106 years. Bertie Matthews is the sixth generation of Matthews to run the mill and has recently joined the business, working with his father, Paul.

Bertie comments:

“Our flour is milled and sourced from as many local suppliers as possible. Local business is important to us, so it only seemed right to be able to give something back to our local community while also supporting the fantastic work Macmillan does.

“Each year its World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event is an opportunity to raise awareness and money for a cause that supports those affected by cancer all year round. I hope to see lots of coffee mornings in Chipping Norton on September 28 and look forward to seeing some of the fantastic baking created with our flour.”

The local flour miller only uses Grade 1 wheat, the highest grain standard, and quality checks are carried out throughout the milling process. So, the first one hundred people through the doors at Matthews can rest assured they will be using the highest quality flour when baking their charity contributions.

Anyone located near Chipping Norton and hosting their own Coffee Morning can claim a free bag of flour by visiting the Matthews Cotswold Flour mill before September 27. This particular promotion is limited to the first one hundred people, so to avoid disappointment participants should please call ahead on 01993 830342 to confirm remaining stock levels.
