I make pizza every Friday night and had previously used regular strong white bread flour. I bought this from my local Aldis, just to give it a try. It’s amazing! The pizza dough is so smooth and stretchy and makes a delicious base.Crispy yet still soft. I have no hesitation in recommending this flour. Just glad I’ve found it online as Aldis don’t seem to have it anymore.

I found this flour in Aldi’s and thought I would give it a try, well it was absolutely the greatest success as I made pizza for 7 people and it was agreed it was the best pizza they hade ever eaten. The dough is so smooth and stretchy and really do make the best base ever. I cannot seem to get it anymore in Aldi but I will now buy it from where ever I can as it is well worth the money as anyone who eats pizza will know that it can be so expensive to go and buy from takeaways. While I was in the mood I also used it for tea cakes which were equally as good.

I sourced this flour in particular for my niece who wanted to make her own pasta for ravioli. She was entering a competition at school. The flour was a great success as her Tipo 00 flour made fantastic pasta so much so that she has won 1st place at school and is now in the semifinals in November.
This flour is quality flour with a difference and as you can see it is approved and recommended to take you the extra mile.

    Hi Jane,

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so happy to hear that the flour has worked wonders for your niece, and please tell her that everyone here at FWP Matthews wishes her the best of luck! Please do keep us updated!

On a whim I decided to buy some of the pasta attachments for my Kenwood. 500gm of this flour, 4 eggs, some olive oil and salt – amazing pasta! Much better than shop-bought fresh pasta. This mix provides 4 two-person servings – we eat one and freeze the rest. We won’t be buying pasta again.

I bought this flour from Aldi, to try it out.
It had made the most wonderful products such as focaccia and pizza that I needed more flour so I ordered it direct from the mill.
It came promptly and is wonderful.
Thank you for this wonderful flour.

My daughter wanted flour for making pasta in Food Tech at school, so I bought MCF Tipo 00 flour from my local ASDA, I was told this is the type of flour needed- it wasn’t cheap. Anyway, I had to write this review. I have been making my own pizza dough for years, using normal strong bread flour- pizzas were great & haven’t bought frozen pizzas for ages. Also made my own pizza sauce. Anyway, I had Tipo 00 flour left over, I used it to make my pizza dough- what a difference!- I now spend extra to buy this flour for pizza making- fabulous to work with & the pizzas taste so much better than when I had made it with normal bread flour. I also used it to make focaccia- my husband & daughter stated it was the best bread I had made so far!! Made 2 focaccia- was gone in a day! I wanted to make some more focaccia as I had some fresh basil but used normal bread flour as didn’t have any Tipo 00 flour in the cupboard- well- it was a waste- not delicious, texture was different, flavour awful- my huskies didn’t mind though! So, basically, what I’m saying is for all my pizza dough & other Italian type breads I would definitely recommend using your flour! Thank you, I’m glad I discovered it by accident- as would not have bought it normally because of the price but now I see the difference I wouldn’t mind paying the extra few £ as you know it’s going to be a quality bake!- thanks again.

As per other reviews, this is the best flour we have found to make pizzas – we even use the suggested recipe on the side of the bag though we do only use half the stated amount of salt and add a bit of golden brown sugar. When we come to roll the dough we use semolina which adds a nice crunch to it.

It’s a shame our local Aldi does not have this flour in all the time though we were lucky enough to get free deliver on this and ordered 10 bags which will keep us going for a while – the bags are stored individually in air tight containers 🙂 Thanks for the special offers and look forward to other offers in time to come, especially given we are in Scotland!

Would have liked to try some other flour so would like the option to buy small sample 250g if possible

So the rating…the flour is 5 star, lack of availability – not really under the review and free shipping on this order – 5 star!

Hi Andrew, thanks for getting in touch! Love your new pizza recipe for our Italian Tipo 00. If you are happy we would love to share this recipe on Facebook/Insta page. This is real #flourpower. Good timing Andrew because from the the 16th of April (and again in July) you can find our Italian and French flours in Aldi stores across the UK. I will get in touch regarding the sample. Ps: thanks for the 5 star rating. Bertie Matthews

I have been making pizza every Saturday for over 7 years (sad, I know but my family insist) and have been using 00 flour from various supermarkets. Although, I have never been that happy with the results – I have tried different recipes and even mothered a sourdough starter! However, they never really tasted as good as ones from a restaurant. I even thought of buying a pizza oven!. I recently bought your 00 flour as a ‘special buy’ from Aldi and thought I would give it a try. I am SO pleased with the results. It is easy to use and gives a lovely taste and texture. I looked up the name online and was amazed to find you, AND with an online shop. I can honestly say that I will only use this flour from now on to make my pizza. I almost gave up!

Hello Rachel we are delighted to hear you had such great results using the Pizza Flour! Keep up the good work

Thought this flour deserved a review! Only very recently i’ve taken it upon myself to make my own pizza, mainly because of the lack of any good quality pizzarias in my local area. I was excited to find this flour in Aldi’s, mind you there was only one left! I wasn’t disappointed because the pizza dough came out tops! This is a great quality flour. I hope to find more in Aldi, if not, i’ll be ordering straight from the website 🙂

We recently ran out of FWP Matthews OO flour (after using for a couple of years) and for a few weeks made pizza’s with normal strong white bread flour – but it was much more sticky and nowhere near as good and strechy. Anyway, just had a delivery so back to being able to make pizza bases with the right flour – who would have known what a difference the type of flour would make. Can’t recommend this highly enough.

First time shopping at Aldi and was excited to find the dark rye. Picked up three bags for pumpernickel, some T55 for baguettes and the 00. Well, they’re all great but as with so many other reviews, I also make Pizza every week and this is flour is as good as it gets. Forget strong white bread flour. Do you want a pizza base that’s crisp on the outside yet still soft with a beautiful tear to it? Do you want a base that actually tastes of something? If the answers YES then look no further. Stock up whilst it’s around because at £1.65 per 1.5 kg it’s ridiculous value.

Ordered this flour on line, realised it wouldn’t arrive in time for my party called and was advised to try Aldi. Third of the online price!!
Brilliant flour, pizza cooked in outdoor pizza oven , fantastic stretch and flavour. Also tried the baguette flour again, beautiful flavour.

I have spent most of my life trying to find the perfect Pizza dough and came across Tipo 00 online so I bought some and found this to be unquestionably the best flour I have ever used for Pizza’s. This makes a beautifully soft textured stretchable dough that bakes perfectly, and everyone loves it. I will always be buying Tipo 00 from now on, all I need now is the proper Pizza oven!

Bought this flour especially for homemade pizza’s and glad that i did, it’s an excellent grade and quality “00” flour for a good price. Would recommend this to anyone and will definitely come back here when i need more. 10 out of 10 from me 🙂
